TWO MORE BOBBERIES
REPORTED.
Oar Coastal corespondent reported yesterday by telepione that two more robberies bq,l been sported in the vicinity of Hare Matenga’i exploits. Qn Sunday a bush camp on Hr G’Regan’s property was looted, and all the food and olothing carried off, and liter a raid was made on Mr Willis’s propety at Oveta. The value of the articles tiken amounted to about £l6, but the inemvenienoe enl enuoyanoe occasioned was deo great. At the bush oamp tho men vere deprived of their tea and breakfast.
There is a stong feeling on the Coa'-t that the Dspatment is not doing all that it should in tb matter of trying to capture the dariDg rofoer who has sot the law at defianoe. It s considered that whore the depredationsare so numerous the Depattment should app y itself to the woik of capturing t'e outlaw, and not thrust a public dut,< on tho settlers. Deteotive Broberg ad his oomrado in the foroe are doiDg theilbest, but tha work required i. very differnt from that of the ca'ptu o of Elks, tba Te Awaite murdorer, Things have cow to suoh a pass now, wo are inftrmef that thore is a difficulty in getting ma ta take up bush contraols up the coat where Ma’engi h jlds sway.
