POULTRY, PIGEON AND CANARY SHOW.

Tho tbirtoonth an mini Show of tho Gisbt r io Poultry Fit iciera’ Club oponod yos torday. Tho number of entries, 250, would havo boon much largor but for tho recent floods, wbioh destroyed a lot of aaluablo thoroughbred feathered stock, I The quality of tho oxbibits, on tho wholo, is very good. Great praise is due to tho Committee and the enorgatio Secretary (Mr C. Ferris) for tho good display of tho oxbibits. Tho judging, in tho hands of Messrs W. Gault (poultry) and It. Johnston (pigeons and canuriep) gave goueral satisfaction. Too North Islaud championship for Pekin ducks, was won by Mrs Ellirtt, with a \ory Dies young drake, gord in typo and rz', and well shown. Too North Island championship for peno:iled Hamburg* was won by T. MorrisoD, with a nice showy gold pencilled oockerol. Tho Wyandottos aro tbo best represented some realty good birds being shown in this favorite American breed, and Iho pr zr for tbo best male bird being won by a big silver laoed cockerel. Tho Leghorns are not as numerous ns they should be, although there are some nice whites penned. The Indian game and British game olasses had very few entries, but Mr H. M. Porlor’s Indian hen (last year’s New Zouland championship and a beauty) won the prize for tbo best hen in the Show, The Orpington olasses wero only fairly well representor?, one or two birds standing out from the rest. Mr Lovell’s Buff cockerel had hard luck in bemg beaten for the beet rnalo in the Show. Mr Me re won all the prizes for Dorking l- , .'genus and oauaries only had a email display. The attendance during the afternoon and evening was very good, and everything points to tbo Show boiog a financial success.
