Alfred Archer, single, 30 years of age, woiking in the iron bridge eeotion of tho Westport Coal Company’s Danniston colliery, was killed to day by a fall of ooal. Is is be'ievod that he was pusbiog a truck bofore him, aod that the track fouled a prop, oausiog part of the roof to fa'l id. 0 r the preoeeding day Archer’s brother had been irjured in tbo ssme part of the mine, and he was unable to proceed to work to-day, so Aroher was alone when tha accident happened. Tho body of J if. Wilson, drowned on the Kavamea bar on Tuesday in tbo boating accident that occurred while survey Boundings wera being taken, was discovered on the beach a short distanoo | north of tho river entranoo to-day.
