PRESS ASSOCIATION New Plymouth, last night. It is understood that over forty thousaud shares have been applied for in the Taranaki Petroleum . Company, Ten thousand were allotted to this province, and 12,124 applications arc already in. # The share list has not yet closed. Active boring operations in number two bore arc being commenced, also preparations for clearing out one of the old abandoned bores The directors are confident they will be able very shortly to prove the extent and richness of the" oilfield. "
