One of the reoent arrivals from tbe Old Country by the Devon was found lyiDg under a bush near Ponsonby Road, sufferiug from a wide wound in his tbroat, and Bernal penknife was lyirg beside him. The biys who found him immediately oommunicatfd with Co-stalle Dunn, at Ponsonby Polioe Station, who was nosr, and upon going to tho spot he found tbe man with a wound some nine inches long in tbe throat, and a small out on tho wriet. Tho man was laktn to tho bospiltl, but refused to say aoything about himself whatever. Investigation, how* ever, disclosed tbat he was ona of tbe Devon’s immigrants named Win, Dibbs, a single man of about 25 years of ago, Dibbs appears to have become very dospen dent siueo ho arrived, owing to being alone out hero without any friends. He is described as a grocers assistant, Tbe wounds oro not dangerous.
