TEE RELIEF FUND

’(To the Editor Gisborne Times* Sir,—Before any general distribution of the Storm and Belief Fund takes place it would be as well if a close enquiry were made into the morits of oaoh case. We have had a very heavy flood on the flatß and two wrecks on the Coast. In the latter case I am informed that toe insurances are most substantial, amounting in ono ease to not only a cover on the life of the captain of the boat, but also in regard to the full intorost which ho held in the boat. Thoso are matters which concern the general pnblic, who are over ready to give, and for that reason I may be pardoned for trespassing on your valuable spaoe.—l am, etc., JACK TAR.
