MESS ASSOCIATION Hokitika, yesterday. Tho final return in the Westland election is as follows : Seddon 2403 Miohel 1683
Majority for Seddon ... 720 Number on the roll, 4484. Mr Seddon is remaining on tho Coast for the present, and is now engaged in visiting various parts of tho oonstitusnoy. He will bo entertained by the ladies of the district daring the week. A meeting of Mr Michel’s supporters will bo held this evening, for the purpose of rscognising tho manner in whioh he conducted tho campaign.
A NICE PRESENT, psanxa PRESS ASSOCIATION
Hokitika, last night. A meeting of the eupportora of Mr H. L. Michel was held in tho Town Hall this evening, when the hall was crowded. Tho meeting was for tho purpose of organising a testimonial to the defeated candidate, and subscription lists wero opened for the purpose of providing a fund. The meeting was characterised by immense enthus-asm, and in a short time the sum of £125 was subscribed in the ireom. Spoeohes eulogistic of the straightforward, gentlemanly manner in which Mr Miohel had fought his campaign wore made, and at the close of tho meeting throe hearty oheers wore given for him.
