At tbe Anglican Synod to«day a motion in favor of granting to women tbe power to vote at elections of churchwardens and vestrymen was oarried. The voting was: Clergy, ayes 24, noes 21; laity, ayes 20, noes 7.

Mr Tom Saddon concluded his campaign to-night, having a splendid meeting, and was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence on a etrong Bhow of hands. Invercargill, last night.
Mr J 3, P, Maogoun, who has been clerk and treasurer-of the Southland County Counoil sinro its formation 29} years ago, resigned his position to-day. He had but recently recovered from a serious illness. C. H. Sowortb, Southland County engineer for many years, has n'so resigned.
