The Australasian Institute of Engineers presented gold badges to’Mr Bennett, chief engineer, and Mr Fastilow’, second engineer of the steamer Victoria, as a mark of appreciation of the pluck and resourcefulness they displayed in repairing the damage to the steamer’s cylinder at sea a few weeks ago.
