For the forthcoming wool sales 176,000 bales have boon received to date, wheroof 15,000 were forwarded direct to tbo manufacturers, leaving 100,000 available. The tallow stook is 9481 oasks. Tbo imports were 6136, aod the delivorios 4976.

SALE AT MATAWHERO VARDS,

The Matawhero stook sales were hold yesterday, there beiog a fair attendanoo of buyers. There was good competition for sheep, but the market for cattle was dull, although station oatlle and fat*' brought fair competition. Mosars Dalgety and Co., Ltd., and Common, Shelton and Co., Ltd., had a small yarding owing to lines not coining

to hand. The following prices were realised : 161 hoggets 6s lid, 31 old owes and 4 wethers 3s lOd. Two oows brought £3 7s and 6 weaners 16 1. One horse was sold at £5 15s. Messrs Williams and Kettle, Ltd., and

the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., 'had a yarding of olose on 2000 sheep, the following prices beiDg realised: 2 fat wethers j£l, 30 fat ewes 14s 9d, 33 2-tooth wethers 13s 63, 50 fat ewes 14s 9d, 105 ewes in lamb 9s 31,108 ewes 10s Bd, 102 wethers 15s 6d, 63 empty ewes 10s, 96 hoggets B>, 50 do. 9s Id, 20 woolly hoggets 10a Id, 21 2-tooth ewes 11s 6d, 43 woolly hoggets 10s 93, 30 empty ewes 7s 61, 335 ewes in lamb 9s, 152 2 tooth wethers 14s 63, 100 sound-mouthed ewes in lamb 13a 61, 147 2 and 4-tooth wetbers 14s 103, 8 prime fat hoggets 143 101, 241 wethers 14s 9d.

Cattle: About 200 head of mixed oatlle were yarded. The prioes wore: 1 Jersey oow Slose to oalving £B, 1 dairy oow dose to oaiving £6. 1 springing heifer £6 2* 61, 1 heifer £2 12s 63, 33 big bullocks £5, 21 weaners 27s 61, 2 beef oows £5 17s 63, 1 beef oow £1 17s 61, 2 big oalves 26a, 2 big bullocks £3 12s 63, 1 light beef oow JG3 7e 6d. -cl •

Pigs; There was a big yarding of pigs, wbiob were all sold, with a:brisk market. Eight weaners brought 63, 3 porkerß 243 61, 3 porkers 275, 5 weaners 7s, 2 barrows 355, 1 barrow and 1 sow 31s, 11 pigs 12a, 8 small porkers 33s 61,6 soW3 13s, 10 pigs 13s, 11 pigs 10s, 2 bacon pigs 245, 2 porkers 16 1, 10 weaners 5s 61.
