Reuter’s Durbin correspondent reports that a small imp! attacked on Monday morning Colonel Barker’s rearguard, a mile outside of Woodsborgor. The assailants were repulsed.
The Zulus returned two hours later, when 1500 natives attaoked the vanguard, The small British force maintained a steady fire, although the Zulus advanced within twelve yards, almost overwhelming it. The timely arrival of the main British force averted a disaster by fiiDgiog the impi back with heavy loss, three tquadrons pursuing them. One Britisher was killed and two wounded.
The Zulus retired in a north-easterly direotion, after six hundred had been killed.
