The directors of the Eltham Cooperative Dairy Factory, one of the largest iii Taranaki, resolved at a special meeting on Saturday to place the insurance of their main factory and nine branch creameries, amounting to over £IO,OOO, with the Taranaki Farmers’ Mutual Insurance Company, which was established only a year ago. It already holds £BOOO insurance risks in this province. This transfer of business from the ordinary insurance companies mat ks a very important new development for the Farmers’ Mutual, more especially as it is generally understood that the action of the Eltham Company will bo followed by sevonty-live por cent of other dairy companies doing a largo business in Taranaki.

In live months nine inches of rain has fallen. Sheep feed is becoming scarco, and farmers are hoping for rain.
