Wellington, last nighi The House met at 2.90 p in.

Leave of absence, for the remainder of the Session was granted to Sir Joseph Ward, Messrs McNab, Kaihau, Aitkcn, Blolard, Fowlds. The Premier, in moving, explained his position, namely that lie holds office till Sir Joseph Ward returns. An adjournment he thought, would be necessary till the 11th of August and he made the undertaking that the House will meet some day between the 14th and 21st. The address in reply wss moved by Mr Millar, seconded by Mr Baumc, both of whom took the. opportunity to deliver eulogies of the late Premier. The address was adopted without division or further comment.

The Public Revenues Amendment Act, pnablmg imprest supply to be granted, vyas read a'ijrst, tiiife, and the House adjourned till 4.15 p.m, to enable members to peruse the stupe. On resuming, the Premier moved the second reading, explaining the clause. The leader of the Opposition, Messrs Alien and Henries spoke, urging the need of going on with tlje business, instead of adjourning. The Premier replied, and the Bill \yent through all its remaining stages, Tho Council met at 2 30 p.m. Mr Giirncross moved the address in reply. Mr Jcnkinson seconded the motion, the address was carried.

The House adjourned till 280 p.m. on Wednesday next.
