Christohurob, last night. Ann Foster and Harriet Fosier were charged at tho Polioe Court to-day with tbe murder of tho illegitimate child of Harriet Foster by starvation and negleot. The child di6d rccenily st Shand’a Track, and an inquest was held. Tho medioal evidence was to tho cff.ct that the child weighed only six pounds, when the weight for the age should have been 25 or 30 poundp. Accused were oommitted to trial. Bail was allowed. Tbe Magistrate said defendants having no means, he would reoommend the Government to provide them with counsel.
