During a performance in Madison Bquare Garden Theatre, Harry Shaw, a Pittsburg millionaire, brother of the Countess of Yarmouth, shot Standford White, the famous millionaire Now York architect, thrice, killing him. He then calmly rejoined fcis wife, remarking, “He ruined you; now I have fixed him.” His wife was the beautiful actress, Evelyn Nesbit. Shaw was arrested.
