The City Chambers, totally destroyed l>v lire, wore in the South British for £lo,iioo. Tho insurances on the stocks include : State Department £iioOO, lm perid £llOO, Commercial Union £IOOO, Royal /800, Now Zealand Insurance £l.lO. A considerable quantity of stock in the basement shops, where the insurances were heaviest, were only water damaged.
