Mr Seddon, interviewed prior to sailing in referonco to tho reciprocal treaty said he had been able owing to the determination to reduce indirect taxation (to meet the Commonwealth Ministry in a generous spirit. Lie was inclined to think tho Common wealth Ministers erred on the sido of caution, but recognised that they have contending interests to study, and that there is competition which cannot be overlooked, also that the interests of producers havo to bo conserved as well as tho interests of consumers.
