A STRANGE AFFAIR.
(Per Press Asßocaatioji.) Palmerston North, last nighf. Three oaßee of poisoning after food have occurred here, six people being affected, one young man very seriously. A dootor who was called in was suspicious of sapio homemade pickles as the oauae/lle found that a powder supposed to be temerio had been need in preparation of the same,- He balance of tbo pickles and powder to Wellington for analysis* Word has'-been received that the supposed (amerio was really Cooper’s sheep dip powder, among the constituents of which were arsenic. How the sheep dip same ta be need instead of tamerio there is at present no explanation made. The maker of the piokles took it from the same tin as it was supposed last year’s stock was oontained. Coming so soon after the reoent ptomaine poisoning oase a painful impression haß beonoaused. ' -
