. ANNUAL MEETING, ,(P»r Press Asaoßiatfon.)' Dunedin, last night. At the annual meeting of the National Dairy Association of the South Island, Mr James Milne was re-elected president. It was resolved to ask that Government do all it consistently can in the way of ioflaenoing the British Government to pass legislation to prevent frauds on dairy which are detrimental to the interests of both the Home and colonial produots, and that the New Zealand Government ask the British Government to insert a olause in the British Bill giving colonial Governments’ representatives the same power to enter premises as are given to British offioiab. It wa3 also resolved that the Dairy Commissioner be asked to have all batter ased for Home oonsump lion graded in the Bamo way as that for export. Mr Kinsolla said'the Department bad decided to give the proposal referred to a trial. It was also resolved that the inspection of milk and milking yards supplying dairy faotories should at once be pus under the oontrol of the Dairy Department, and that a qualified man be appointed to inatrnot factory milk suppliers and inspect milk yards and sheds; that the Assooiatiqa strongly urge the Government to start and equip at onoe an experimental station and dairy school for the Dairy Department, as this is urgently required; and that steps be taken to reduce fire insurance rates on dairy factories, machinery, anfl stock.
