HOTEL LICENSES.
(Per Press Association.) Greyaioulb, last night. The Grey LioensiDg Committee granted a'l lioonsoß with 11 o’clock closing hour. Tbo police reported that there was good improvement io the conduct of the hotels. There was great scarcity of accommodation, but Ibis would bo remedied when two large and commodious hotels now in oourse of erection are completed. Cbristcburob, last night. At the Licemsiog Committee to day all trsn>fers applied for were granted, and most of the renewals. Ssveral were adjourned until June 18th to admit tf certain structural improvements being m-d?. Tbo Manawatu Licensing Committee to-day refused to grant a license to the Criteiion Hotel, Bulls, as iho premiers had not beeu maintained Bt the required standard and are cut of repair and the rooms insuflicitnsly furnished for pubic accommodation. The renewal of a wholesale liosnse at Rongotea was refused. Ad ditional accommodation is to be provided at Manawatu and Family Hotels at Foxton. A reoommenda'ion to rebuild the Marton Hotel was hold in abeyaooe Meanwhile the house is to be put in thorough repair. Several applications for reoewals were adjourned for three months.
