A HULK STRIKES THE TARAWERA

Wellington, last night. The Union Company’s Tarawera, whioh left Wellington wharf at 5 10 this afternoon for Napier, collided with the hulk Coromandel, which the tug Duco was bringing in from the stream to the Glasgow wharf. The Coromandel Btrutk the Tarawera, and tore away one top plate on the port side, near the forecastle heed.

The Tarawera returned to the wharf for examination, but as no further damage was apparent, she left again at 6.30. The Coromandel was net damaged,
