POUAWA. May 21. A meeting of settlers was held on Tuesday evening last, at the residence of Mr Fraser, to consider the possibility of obtaining a telephone service for the district (which by the way is very much wanted). It was decided if nothing unforeseen arose to approach the postil authorities on the subject, and proceed with the work as soon as possible, , , . anr On Friday last a mob of about 80C fat atop and lambs the property £ Mr Fraser, were sent on to the Uis borne Sheepfarmers’ Freezing Works: and to-morrow 50 head of fat buUooki belonging to the same owner will alsi start for the same destination.
