The Harbqr Hoard to day rejected a motion to increase the height of the new rubble breakwater, now six feet above high water level. This work is nearly finished. Mr Maxwell's original design was for a half-tide wall, but the Board made it higher. The engineer lias been instructed to prepare plans for a wharf along the north mole, and to reclaim an approach to it, A conference of delegates of local bodies will be hold to-morrow to protest against

would meet the requirements. Thu matter was mentioned at the Hoard meeting today, and the chairman said they lniisl have the money to carry out further improvements.
Negotiations for the sale of the pump dredge to the Geelong Harbor Trust for £13.000 have been fruitless.
