At the Friendly Societies’ Oonftrence this moreiegthe oommittro reported favorably on the GovornmeDt Bill to amend tbe Friendly Sjeieties Act, and suggesting certain additions.
A motion to provide that societies shall provide a fund to be used in keeping indigent members financial on the backs was lost, the following amendment being carried, " Tbat in tbe opinion of this Conference no scheme of friendly sooiety bemfi s is complete wbioh does not provide for t >e cessation of sit-k and funeral contributions after the eg - of 65, aod the subst tution ol a fixed anuuity in lieu of sick pay.” The (’O ’fi'teno- has oonom fed.
