Napier, last night. Giving evidenoe before the Te Ante Commission to-day, lbaia Hutaoa strongly advocated widening the soope of the Te Aute College by including teohnioal education. As far back as 1877 the Maoris had pavilioned against tbe manner in whicU the eobool was eonduotod, and asked that the estato be cut up and leased to more tenants The petition was supported by the Europeans of this district, but no action was taken.

Later. —The Te Aute Trust Commission continued its sittings to-day. Two native witnesses, Ihaia Hntana and Pora Wberaro, were examinod, and both favored tho introduction of toohnioal training at tbe Te Aute school. The Commission Ihon adjourned.
