Toe Tariff Commission has presented progress reports on tbe wiae growiog industry and industrial alcohol and methylated spirits. It recommends that tbe excise duty cn spirits imported for fortify iog Aastta’iau wine be reiuoed from a shilling to sixpence per gallon. There are a number of suggestions regarding strength and fortifying wines. In tegard to methylated spirit tbe Commis* eion recommends the doty bs reduoed to sixpence per gallon, with accompanying conditions as to sale and use.
