Herr Tscrischkv, the new German Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, speaking in the Reichstag, said he had strong grounds for believing that German interest would not be affected even if Britain and Russia arrived at an under standing regarding Asiastie relations, The Triple Alliance stands firm. Even Italy had recently given explicit assurances to that effect. He added that Britain’s welcome to the Burgomasters was heartily reciprocated by the German Government and people.
