Other West Coast committees will bo asked
to eo-operato in making similar repre- | sentations. It was also decided to ask the Union Company to carry West Coast exhibits for not more than half freights oach way. There are indications that the West I Coast will be very fittingly represented lat tho Exhibition. Hub-committees’ I reports aro very satisfactory. I m Palmerston North, last night. The Silver Grid restaurant in the Square was destroyed by fire at 1.80 this morning. A high wind was blowlug at the time, but the brigade confined the outbreak to tho destroyed building, which was occupied by A McArtney and owned by Constable Breen. The insurance on the stock were £l5O in the State Ofii- e and on tho building £225 in the Commercial Union.
Now Plymouth, Inst night. Afc the Assessment Court only three objectors appealed against the Borough valuations. Ono valuation was sustained, and in respect to the others, Harbor [Hoard leaseholds, reductions were made. The Court remarked that in face of the recent agitation, Mr Hill a values all round seemed very fair. 3
