There was much diversity of opinion on the proposal, sems urgiDg that ■ the societies could make their own valuations ; others that tbe proposal would Becure uniformity. A oomplaint was made as to delays in preparing valuations. Eventually the motion wa3 oarried. Later.—Qa the motion of Bro Larnach (Otago Counoil), seconded by Bro. W. Gibb (D A.0.D., All N .tions), it was resolved “Teat the information required by the registrar f'om secretaries should be mote olealy defined in the Aoh ’ Two remits in the direction of compelling the auditing of oeoretaries' books by the publio auditor or the Government auditor were withdrawn. Bro. 8. J. A motion was also carr’od, urging that the members of friendly sooieties should not bo penalise 1 under the Old Ago Pensions Act by virtue of drawing sick or otbor pay from thoir society. A motion urging that monoys of sick and funeral fuuds invested in propertj be exompt from municipal taxes was negatived.

I* bad been intended to interview the Medical Association, but it nppaars that the matter had boen referred to the Nelson seciion of the A*sooiat : on. Proposals for a Federal Association to arrange registration of a provincial council apd for tbe establishment of a|oolqnial jeoutivei wore negatived.
