(Per Press Asaociation.) Auckland, Saturday. | Loslie Arthur Young, ngoil G yoars, was run over by a cart on the MouiP Roskill road this morning. The driver of the cart was apparently adjusting a sack and did not notice the boy crossing tho road until almost on him ; then it was too late, tho wheel passing ovor the boy’s neck and killing him instantly.
| Napier, Saturday. An inmate of the Old People’s Home, Michael Sullivan, aged 77, diod in the hospital from shock, duo to au attempt to drown himself in tho rivor. At tho inquest no indication as to what led the old man to take this step was given. A verdict of suicide was returned.
Wellington, Saturday The directors of tho Y.M C.A. to-'day I publish the first list of subscriptions I received towards the effort to raiseJL 10,000 to oroct a building on a site in Willis street, given by Mrs Williams. The canvass organised by Mr I Budge, of Montreal, has beon very successful, such a proportion of the I sum required being already promised that when the canvass ceases on June 7th entire success seems assured.
