Tbe glare was observed souse time before tho bell rang, but there was difficulty from tho town in locating tho position. When tho filar. increased tho night watchman deemed it sifor to R 1 alarm. Mr Rhodes was awakened at 5 o'clock when the house was full of emoke, and tho fire had a good hold, being looatod in the partition near tho sitting-room, in tho open fireplace of which a G co m ou burning tho previous evening. There was only time for his wife and six children to escape from tho burning building in soanty attire. A sewing ranchino and a box w.ro all that was recovered. The furniture was insured for £l5O in tho Manoheater Otlioe, aod there was a policy for £loo over tho house and stables in the simo office. Ahe stables wero not damaged. , A few minutes to s'x last evening the firobolls rang out a vigorous alarm ; a largo crowd was soon scurrying round, without getiing much satisfaction. An lnO'pient firs bad occurred in a bedrorm o the Coronalion Hotel, cceupiod by some of tho girls employed at tho hotel. The fire was quickly soeu and promptly suppressed Apparently a oandle bad been left burning, and the wind had blown the ourtatn against it. The flames charred the wall paper, and woodwork near the window, but the damago would be covered by a couple of pounds. The bolls were kept vigorously ringing some time after the n.e had been suppressed, and semo peop'e in the hotel ran out to ascertan tho oause of the alarm,
