(For Press Association.) Wellington, Saturday. Cabinet have agreed to appoint a Commission to collect information dealing with the early history of theoolony. The colony is to be divided into districts, and collectors are being appointed in each district, and the'r duties involve secoting experiences and matters of public interest from those who landed or were born in the oolony prior to 1870. Special attra« t’on is to be devoted to old settlers in tbe large centres, also to old whalers and miners. The investigation is to cover tbe p riod from the foundation of the oolony to 1887.
