A deputation of rabbit 'exporters and others interested in the trade protested to Mr JJjukin against Professor DjdzA’s experiments. They deolared that rabbits were a good nn 1 cheap food, aod an in troduction of a germ might imperil and ruin the rabbit trade, wbioh ia Viotoria alone gave employment to five thousand poople, while io was worth nearly a mil-
lion to Australia. Mr Deakin advised the deputation to euggeßt to the expert the conditions under which the expeiiments should be made.
