RICH PROSPECTS AT WHANGAREI

A very promising gold mine has recently been opened up at Kauri Mountain, Whangarei Hoads. A rich gold hearing quartz reef has been cut, and ehows a face width of seven feet, running through an extensive area, having six hundred feet of backs, and enough quartz to warrant gold mining being carried on for many years. An assay shows the splendid result of £6 12a 6d per ten. Three othor reefs have also been cut, varying from fivo feet to fifteen, and the asssyar's reports thereoD are exoeediDgly satisfactory.
