The woleorao social tendered last evening to the Rev. 0. Griffin and Mrs Griffin by the members of Wesley Church and other denominations waa very largely attended, and the proceedings—a report of which appears in another column —were , of a most enthusiastic nature. The members of the church are to be heartily congratulated upon the appointment of the Rev. Mr Griffin to the charge, and we feel sure that under his able administration tbe good work done by his predecessors will even bo exceeded. It is interesting to note that the rev. gentleman joined the Ministry in New Zealand as far back as 1877, and has thus had an excellent opportunity of making himself familiar with the essentials of colonial work, while having the advantage of English experience,
