(Per Press Association.) Hokitika, las* night. Preston’s Criterion Hotel, Kiimsra, was destroyed by fire at 8.30 tbis morning. The fire spread with great rapidity. Nothing was savod. The oooupants esoepod with difficulty. Tee total loss is estimated at £750. There was no iosnranoe. Adjoining places ought, but the firo was extinguished without doing serious damage, though iojury was done by removal sod water. Wellington, last nigbt. . A fire occurred in the Mercantile ExManners street, Ibis inorntng.
