COVERT MENT INSURANCE.
TRIENNIAL INVESTIGATION. ’(Per Press Association.) Wellington, last night. Tbo triennial actuarial investigation of the Government Insurance Department doe at tbo end of 1905 has been finished, and resulted in a nett oash surplus of JQ 178,994, whieh has been divided among polioy holders, equivalent to additions to sums assured at dea'h or maturity amounting to <£309,910, with a bonus allotted as a percentage to the sum assured and previous bonuses in foree, and in the general section in which the vast majority of assuraocss are effeoted the present bonuses show an increase over those granted three years ago. In the temperance section they are on a slightly lower seals than formerly, but it is explained that this is not nccossarily the result of higher mortality than in the but is due to the preponderance of endowment assurance and other exceptional circumstances,
