DASTARDY TRICK.

HOODLUMS TRY TO DETRAIL TRAIN. (Pen Press Association.) Carterton, last night. The police are investigating what appears to be an attempt to derail the train on Thursday night. The 7 o’clock up goods collided with some slip rails placed on the cattle stops at the Matsrawa crossing and pulled up. A portion of a rail was found obstructing from the cow oatober. The driver of thß down train states that the train passed over an ob struotion at the same spot. It is probably the work of hoodlums.
