MILK SUPPLY SCANDAL.
(Per Press Association.) Auokland, last night.
The official roport to tbo City Council on inspection of dairies-stated that in the majority of plaoes the milk was kept or handled without the precautions necessary to maintain purity or proteot it against contamination. In two oases milk was kept with the privy under the same roof. In another oase four or five privies of adjoining houses were within a few feet of the milk shed. The wall of a dairy in another case joined the wall of an attached water closet. In some cases the milk had been kept under the buildings at night. A cellar, which in another esse was a store plaoe for milk, received the dost from the etreet grating, Harness, ooal, chuff, eto , was kept in the same place, which also had a gully (rap receiving waste water from the house. In several other cases the house! p d washing was dpoe in the same room as that in whioh the milk was kept. Evidence has been obtained that preservatives were added to the milk at times, and condemned milk made up aDd sold as new milk. The report was referred to the Streets Committer,
