A first offender for drunkenness was discharged with a caution. A quiet wedding was solemnised at Holy Trinity Church yesterday morning, when Ernest N. Bidebottom, organist and choirmaster of Holy Trinity Church, was married to Mrs Sutherland, formerly of Mount Pleasant, South Australia. The bride was given away by Mr Harold Kane, and was attended by her sister, Miss Gilmour. Mr Kuby officiated,as best man. The ceremony was performed by the Bev. L Dawson Thomas The Elite skating rink was well patronised last night, the event of the evening being the couples race, which was won by Master J. Lang and Miss E Hayes The race was very evenly .contested. Messrs B. -A general meeting in connection with the social to be held in aid of the public swimming baths was held last evening, the Mayor presiding. Considerable discussion took place in regard to th 9 management of the baths, and it was decided that the .control pf the baths would be in the hands of a swimming club, under the supervision of the School Committee. It was pointed out that the "baths I would be free to all school children throughout the district. The next meeting will be held on Thursday week.
