There is much dissatisfaction in military circles at the administration of the Military Board. Colonel Antill recently resigned as a protest. At a valedictory gathering he condemned in unmeasured terms the Board. The Minister of Defence intends to obtain a report of Colonel Antill’s speech, and an explanation in the presence of a number of officers.
Refugees employed at the McKee mines, near Noumea, built a boat, wherein they voyaged to New Britain. They were employed for a considerable time in German territory before the French authorities ascertained their whereabouts.
