Seven sham policemeD, one in the uniform of an offioer of the gendarmerie, belonging to a fighting revolutionary organisation, obtained at tbe Central prison, Warsaw, the custody of ten important politioal prisoners, explaining that they had been ordered to transfer them to tbe citadel. When the prison van reached the outskirts of tho town the driver was ohlorofoimsd, and the others, doffing their uniforms, escaped.
