John Curlett was brought before Mr Justice Cooper to-day, having pleaded guilty to stealing a pound note from a letter in the General Post- Office. His Honor said off-nets of this character were so inimical to tliß public welfare that it was impo3tiblo to treat offenders in the ordinary way, or admit them to probation. Curlett was sentenced to throo months’ imprisonment
