Tbe quarterly meeting of the Land Board took place at Gisborne on Saturday, there boine present: Tbe Commissioner of Grown Lands (Mr E. 0. Gold Smith) in the chair, Messrs Hyde, Groome; Barnes, aod Bertram. Alex.'Halket applied for lease of Section 8, Block XV., Motu S.D. To be cffsred under optional Bystem at upset of 30s an ace. Mr W. F. Hale applied for lease over municipal reserve, Biook XI. Buckley township. Miscellaneous ieasa granted. Mr G. J. Hale applied for SeotioDß 17 to 20, Buckley township. To be informed that laud cannot be leased except by auction. Local bodies’ proposals : Patutahi Road Board £i 9s, Cook County Council £326 19s 6J, Waiapu County Council £167 9s
Transfers granted : W. Jobson to Jno. Orr, Section 22, Biook VIII., Hangaroa S D„ O.R.P. 226 ; J, N. Shaw to A. T. and M. A. Smith, Ssolions 4 and H, Block XV., Motu, 0.R.P., 268-9; Phelps end Lueas to Jas, A«pin and Jno. Tamer, Section 25, Block 11., Motu, 0.R.P., 258. The Crown Lands Ranger reported nonresidence on Sections 1 and 2, Biook V., Motu, hi Id sines 1900. The Commissioner said the improvements were all right, bnt complaints were beiog made as to nonreeidenoe. Decided te call on tbe section* holders to reside within a month, otherwise the question of forfeiture would be taken into consideration. Regarding an application from E. W. Thomas, that Section 34, Patutahi, be offered for sale, it was decided to offer all unsold eeotions at Patutahi at auction On the applicat’ou of J. Woodford, Block IX., Waipiro, it was decided that the title should issue when road deviation has been oarried out.
