The New Zealand Amateur Athlotio Association has notified the exhibition huthorities of their aooeptance of the proposals made to hold the 1907 championchips in the exhibition sports ground. At a meeting of the sports committee it was decided that the professional athletic events would be held under the rules of the New Zealand Athletic Onion. The axemen's carnival will be conducted under the control of tho New Zealand Axemen’s Association.
The programme for the tug-of-war Events has been arranged. Spaoe is being granted for a unique oolleotion of Moriori curios from the Chatham Islands The Government proposes to bring up from tho Chatham Islands to the exhibition the survivors of this raoe, who now number only eight. The exhibition authorities have agreed to the engagement of a permanent orchestra of thirty performers. Applications for positions are now boing roceived, and it is proposed to organise the orchestra with as little delay as possible. The block plans of tho maio exhibition buildings have now been designed, and the total extent of tho frontages provided exoeods four miles. This is exclusive of the frontages provided by tho machinery ball, and of the gallery of the main buildings. The machinery hall measures 300 feet squarr, and the gallery referred to measures 1600 feet in length.
