Private English letters state that Tartars led by Government agents end police offioials bombarded and fired Armenian bouses at Ashagares, iu the Caucasus, Tho defenders, including women, fought dosperately with revolvers and daggers. Hundreds were massacred, including children. None wore allowed to survive. Tho soldiers and police did not interfere. Similar pocegs occurred at Andush, and other pieces.
