FATALITIES.
JOCKEY JACK’S” FATAL FALL
(Per Press Association.) . Christchurch, last night. On Thursday night John Friend, familiarly known as "Jockey Jack,” fell from a baloony at the back of the stage of the ' Canterbury Hall, a distauoe of thirty feet while setting soenery for the Stephenson Opera Oompaoy. He fractured his skull, and before a dootcr arrived expired. At tbe inquest into tbe sudden death of John Williams the medical evidenoo showed that death was due to synoope through over exertion. A verdict was returned accordingly.
