(Pec Peass Association.)' Ashburton, last-night. A poll on tbe proposal to raise a loan of LIOOO for tbe purpoEe of erecting a grand stand and pavilion in the domain was taken to-day. The proposal was oarried by a majority of 49. Mr McLaohlan, M.H.R,, was entertained at a social by his political supporters to-night.
DunediD, last night, At the annual session of the Presbyterian Bynod of Otago and Southland the Moderator, Rev Dutton, was unable to attend through illness, and his address was read. Disoussion took plaoe on the quaetion of limited tenure of ministerial offioe, and a conference is to be held with the Offioe Bearers’ Association. Tho general opinion appeared to be that tho proposal was impracticable.
