THE BUILER EXPLOSION.
(Pm Pres* Association.) Hokitika, last night.
Wilson, injured in the boiler explosion at Kumara Junction yesterday, died last eveDiDg, aged 25. He was a native of the district. Bull, who was killed outright, hails from Scotland. Le Compte was aged abont 27, and was a native of Akaroa. He was also a married man. He 'died before regaining oonsoiousness. Batty, the fourth maD, who was seri* ously injured, is progressing favorably. Several men in the vicinity experienced very narrow esoapes. One man hadjost left an adjacent hut, into which the flying fire-box crushed, totally destroying the habitation.
The mills had stopped to oil np and sharpen saws, otherwise other live j would probably have been involved.
