(Per Press Association.) Palmerston North, last night. The Manawatu Ruoing Club’s autumn meeting opened to-day in bleak, threatening weather. The attendance was poor. The amount put through the totalisator was L 9.282, a deoreasa ou last year of L 669. The results were :
Telegraph Stakes—Sir Tristam 1, Gawain 2, Emg Billy 3. Also ran ; Solution, Stronghold. Sit Geraint, Red Cross, and Gold Dredge. Won easily. Time 1.15. Divs L 4 19s and LI Bs.
Korere Hack Welter—Wailetho 1, Acmemsnto 2, Aorangi 3. Scratched : Moleoh, Lion Heart, and Mauira. Won by a length and a half. Tima 130 8-5, Divs L 8 6s and L2 4s.
